I use the built in Windows Paint that comes free with any Windows Operating System.

It cant do half of what Photoshop does. but the good part of that is that the user interface is simple and it is easy to find the functions you want.

There is an abandoned colony near our empire with loads if resources.

We would love to jump in and loot it. but the abandoned account is in an alliance.

Will I be infringing on some unwritten rule of looting rights saying he is 'one of theirs' ?

Are the defenses of both planet and moon activated when either is attacked ?
Or do they defend themselves individually ?

Assuming your research network have a level higher than 1 you could try looking at the same research from the planet with your secindmost developed lab. If the times shown are the same I would expect the research network is taken into consideration.
