Which is the most effective way to do a moon shot. Which has the biggest % chance to create a moon, how may ships of what type.

Q:How can I get a moon?
A:You need a battle to take place on your planet. After the battle there is chance of getting a moon. 20% is the highest possible chance.
Debris field generated is one way of calculating the moon chance. 20% moon chance needs around 2m debris. (metal+crystal)

so what is the % of a ships construction material that would go into the debris field? does it have to be equal met/cryst or can it be mostly one or the other. If u load up large cargo ships with 2 million worth of those and someone else does the same and u throw them at each others planets would that put the cargo into the debris field? Really now i wanna know i want a moon, i think.. well.. i mean what are moons good for other than phalanx?

60% of destroyed ships go into a debris field. And you can build a Jump Gate on your moon as long as you have two. Instant travel is nice

Jump Gates are great but they can't transport resources and they have an hour wait time
