Forthcoming Universe: Massacre

The game is in need of a new universe as there have now been 9 months since our latest release (SPEED).

The new universe will be named MASSACRE (as announced before).

Universe characteristics are largerly undecided. We intend to hear from the playerbase first.

Red lines for new universe:
A)Less speed than Speed. More speed than Standard.
B)Diversified Battle Engine (Most probable case is different RF with unit to unit instead of stack to stack stll open to other/different changes)
C)New statistics addon complete (This includes a whole bunch of new statistics and is currently under development)

We are open for all the rest.
Estimated time of opening should be late September - Early October but it will really depend on development time. This means it can be delayed. What we want and hope is to have it ready by late September but it can easily be delayed for a long time as it happened before.

Feel free to create your own list of characteristics, suggestions that need to be included and more. Our project manager will be watching and replying to this thread.

Here is how current universes are:

Speed Universe
-Game Speed: 8x | Fleet Speed: 8x | Production Speed: 3x
-Max planets 11 | Large Sized Map

Standard Universe
-Game/Fleet Speed: 2x | Production Speed: 1x
-Max planets 11 | Medium sized map

XTREME Universe
-Game Speed: 4x | Fleet Speed: 6x | Production Speed: 2x
-Max planets 21 | X-Large Sized Map

These are the main universe characteristics but not the only ones that play a heavy role to gameplay. For example, storages play a big role while there are a dozens of parameters we can tweak to alter the user experience. For example, we can force a higher % to DF generation; this would play a huge role and it is among our options.

Therefore we would appreciate complete suggestions so that we can build on them and create a better perspective for what the playerbase wants.

We are certain that the majority would like SPEED SPEED SPEED which always sounds like a good solution for better gameplay but in fact it is not. More fleet speed in a universe means it becomes far more challenging, especially for the casual players which are about 80% of a universe. More game speed means it becomes less strategic and more resource speed means further loss of strategy and less tension.

However, since a handful seem to care about speed already, here is our complete position at this time:

Massacre Universe
-Game Speed: 5x | Fleet Speed: 5x | Production Speed: 2x
-Max planets 16 (15 regular + 1 for rubies) | Large Sized Map

Storages: Same as Speed (as they are currently)
Ship list: Same as Speed
Battle Engine: Massacre Version (Not yet introduced)
Moon Destroy: At least 25% will be needed to even roll for a moon destroy. This means that any MD mission with less than 25% chance will ALWAYS fail. (This will make moon destroy a more serious business than it is with the current leading strategy. I do not wish to reveal which is this strategy but this change is something we currently review for all universes).
Imperial Support: Deactivated for the beginning and for a few weeks. When it will be activated, it will start with a low amount and will be capped to that amount. That amount will grow slowly. Imperial Support is a feature that it is meant to be used in an emergency or from someone that wants to cover some lost ground, either because he was unlucky or he started late or he had a break etc. This is the case in all universes right now but this was not the case in the start of Speed universe. We do not want to repeat a same mistake therefore we will be following the steps I mentioned above to ensure competitive gameplay for all.

Points to consider:
-DF %. We are considering an increase. Feel free to suggest the number or else.
-New building: Hideout (Used to protect some of your resources from attacks. It will need a proper design phase. It's main characteristics is that it will be expensive, will take a long time to build and it will protect only a portion of the existing storage. Therefore it will be closely connected to storages.) We might add this building at a latter stage and not necessarily since start.
-New Ability: Bombers will be able to demolish Hideouts. We feel that both additions will add further options for the players therefore we mostly seek the details rather than an approval. After all this is a new universe and not an existing one to seek approval. It is like a take it or leave it deal and only time will show if choices will be good or bad for the players and the game. Of course, we are eager to hear your opinion about both.
-No protection/bashing rules (Due to Hideout)

Addons:
-New stats (includes many goodies)
-New battle engine (Check the battle engine discussion for details)

Possible Addons:
-Player Profiles (+Player badges in the near future)
-More Raid-Easy options
-Mobile-friendly game menu
-Horizontal Game menu (ability to choose between existing, mobile and horizontal menu).
-Ability to IPM moons (Not possible currently)
-User suggestions as noted in Suggestions thread (All of them or particular ones, feel free to suggest here your top picks)
-Improved buddy list (big feature, will probably not make it right away)
-Ignore list for other players (applies to messaging).

This is not a finalized list. More ideas may be popped in.
As for the person who commented on the difference the new engine will have, the answer is that it will most probably lead to more expectable results. It won't change outcomes much differently than they are now but it will lead to less suprises.

in terms of actual speed can u tell us how

will behave in terms of a time frame.

say a 100% 100 LC transfer between galaxy 1 and 2.
i will like time and deut cost.

it will give us a more practical idea of how that new stats going to be.
