Chat Upgrade

#1
The chat has been upgraded. If you have trouble logging in, just follow the instructions that will appear.

The upgrades bring the following features:
-Mods no longer can see IP Addresses.
-When you join chat, it will mention from which Universe you joined.
-When someone clicks on your name or uses the /whois command, he will be able to see where from you joined and the following relevant info on this universe:
a)gender
b)day joined
c)Points

We have also implemented a new system that allows 1-click permanent chat bans from Game Administrators. These will be widely used from now on whenever a user creates any issues.

All prior permanent chat bans have been removed.

Good idea in principle but multi-accounters will now be able to join chat (they know who they are!!!) and the Mods won't be able to tell anymore..........maybe this could be rectified as in the player names of the joint IP address could show in red or designated colour (to the Mods only) who can then act accordingly.......just saying :)

a)gender *** every where on the net gender is a personal details that can only be disclosed if the user agrees. ZE assumes the details, regardless user concent. when we join ze it asks for gender but it should also enclose the clause should i allow others to see it or not.

mentioning this because on chat environment it creates alot of unnecessary disturbance for many chatters who wants a gender neutral environment.... we have seen the fair share of IT factor on chat and ppl abusing them. Also not always you will find male and female adequate. so can we have that out? or make it user preference if a player would want to show it or not?

Spot on Spy.......that's half the problem with chat.......people impersonating another to gain favour or info on others etc as has already happened............gender is also irrelevant..........maybe you could designate all players with some kind of unique number that's assigned to their real IGN that cannot be seen by anyone but will alert admin or Mods when both don't match in chat...........all ideas welcome to resolve people abusing what is after all just a game :)

actually it is pretty good. they already have all that. anyways. i think the new chat log in feature is good enough for the moment. so far the scope is limited only if you know how to recreate the link.

lets see how it goes and if their is any imp case traced any farther then it can be asked to changed but user gender is kind of unnecessary.

Gender removed. We will make it as an option in the near future though.
Also, we implemented some more security controls to further control impersonating possibility. It still can get more strict, but I doubt it will need so. After all, we need to dedicate our time elsewhere right now.

Finally, we are open to ideas as to what other info to include there plus chat-to-game commands (like game search, improved combat report sharing or even attack launches. Although the latter will need to wait for the complete in-game-login system which is not even scheduled yet.)
